2Pet1:3 God has called us by glory and virtue (goodness)
V5 – 8 "And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge, and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
V5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue: talks about rare collectibles of faith. Great faith is a collection, produces virtue, goodness, work. It goes hand in hand with God’s Word, rhema and logos of God.
V6 and to knowledge self-control: Add to the knowledge self control, being discipline to be soak in His presence daily, reading His word daily.
One must also be discipline to do the right thing, at the right time, having self control when faced with temptation. The man who has self control is better than he who can conquer hundred cities yet has no self control.
to self control perseverance, to perseverance godliness: the road of perseverance is long, enduring and hard. But we got to hold onto the eternal crown we will receive at the end of the race. Keep on keeping on when things are going tough.
When we persevere, we also put on the robe of righteousness with a renewed mind, living a godly, holy life, living out godliness, adding salt (favor) to the atmosphere, and light to the world making the place we live in a little happier a little brighter
